Today is my Daughter Debra and son-in-law Tom

21st Wedding Anniversary.  She wrote to him this morning:
Happy 21st Anniversary to the love of my life. My life is nothing without you. Tonight I will make you a lovely steak dinner with sweet potatoes and green beans followed by a chocolate raspberry cheesecake. We'll celebrate with the girls and enjoy family time together. Thank you for all you do, all you sacrifice, all your love. I can't wait to see what the next 20+ years has in store for us bc we will be sharing those adventures together. I love you Tom xoxo

AND then he had a heart attack this afternoon and died this evening.  May he ever rest in God's arms. Be at peace and know you are loved.

He left behind a very loving family.  His son Christopher serving in the Air Force didn't make it back in time.  He will be here tomorrow.

Debra, Christopher, Kayla, Meaghan, Tom, Stephanie, Amanda
God bless this beautiful family

Blessings,
Janet

God was out painting the sky this morning

Absolutely amazing, albeit a bit late in the day 7:00 a.m.

Usually, this is late in the day for it to be so dark and to see such a lovely sunrise.

No, that is a street light, not the moon in the center of the picture.
Lovely view of the palm trees I am so blessed to see everyday.

Uh Oh, it does look like storm clouds brewing in the southeast.

Yep, the look a bit ominous.
I love the way God paints the sky minute by minute.
Reminder, the spot on the left is the street light.
My World is Beautiful.

Enjoy your Friday. . . every minute of it.
Blessings,
Janet

Monday Nite Ducks

At the Bridge there was one lone duck.  The other were across the street. He decides maybe I better cross, there might be food.

Well, is there any food?

 OK, fine, I'll leave.

Here they all come (and yes the cars do stop for them). There is a couple feeding them, I've seen the couple before, they always have something with them for the ducks, they say.  Now I understand why they come across the water to me.  See the crow on the fence!!

Hello
Do you have any food?

Oh, you left it at home. . . well, why don't I just follow you home!
He gave up.
But as I look back across the water, no one goes in swimming anymore. Not sure if there are gators or what the reason, but they do stay out of the water now.

See the Egret. . . not going to be left out when there's food.

Fun place to walk to and get the exercise I need each day.
Blessings,
Janet

I went out on my evening walk to the bridge. There were 2 ducks at the waters edge.
The rest of the ducks were huddled further up on dry land.  They look like they are still skittish about getting into the water.

As you can see one duck decided to get into the water and swim toward me.  There is always ONE brave little duck.

However, instead of coming over to my side of the canal bank, the duck turned and swam under the bridge.

It is always great to see the ducks and find out what they are doing. Makes walking much more pleasant.

Blessings,
Janet

Sunday

I have been attending this new church all month.
They are so spiritual, loving, expressive and I feel the presence of God all week.

The interior of the church has comfortable chairs, the Cross is prominent, and the music uplifting.
It is a small but growing church.

The singers for this Sunday.  The lady in the green on the left, Conchita, is the piano player and has a voice that won't quit.  The center gal is married to the preachers son and her voice is tremendous.  And the gal on the right sings every Sunday and I know why, she has a great voice also.

After going to church, it is a treat once in awhile to have lunch OUT. . . . and where else can you have 1. Take out of the best scones in the world for upcoming breakfast next week.  They are so large, I have 1/2 each day  . . . .  that's 4 days (I bought 2).  \o/
2.  French Onion Soup for lunch and, of course, the Dark roast coffee with 1/2 1/2 and a touch of hazelnut coffee.

Perfect Sunday.  Spend it in God's house, that is reward enough.

God's Blessings to you,
Janet

Happy Birthday - Horses Lap Quilt

Happy Birthday Jeanine, my best friend since third grade.
I hope you are able to see the quilting on this lap quilt.
My teacher is a long time friend, Waynette, who quilted it and at the same time showed me how.

The first picture shows quilting in white, actually it is a clear thread that she used.
She outlined the horses and put in a few designs. I didn't want the entire quilt to be deluged with quilting designs.  Click on the picture to make it bigger and to see the actual designs.

Blessings,
Janet

Rainbow in Black and White

Wouldn't you know I would use the camera for a bw picture and forget to change it back. There are no seconds on rainbows.

There will be more opportunities.

Another day at the Bridge

The ducks are gathered on the bank. . . they will Not go into the water.

ONE lone duck is in the water, but soon flies off.
After she flies off, I watch the water. Sure enough there are about 5 bobs and circles
I know we have gators here. . . I have no idea, but I do know there is something in the water
and no one wants to go in.

Uh, Oh, Should I go in?? Nope, don't think so.

One of the ducks across the water decides to fly over to where I am on the other bank.
But soon flies back, no food!

As I turn around to go back home, there is a smaller duck coming by. .. does she go into the water?
I don't know, I trek for home.

 Blessings,
Janet

Walking to the Bridge - Will it rain?

Walking to the bridge it did not rain.

I saw 3 ducks.
I know many more hang out there than that.
W A I T
They were on the other side - here they come across the road.
 and down the bank
Swimming across the canal
Yep, they didn't want to get left out

Just in case there was 'food' involved.
There were at least 15 ducks.
Is that a Gaggle of ducks?

Blessings,
Janet

Sunset at Starbucks

Once out, don't forget to look around. . . the wires got in the way, but the sunset was still beautiful.

Walk to bridge to see the ducks

Florida has canals everywhere. No shortcuts down any streets here.
As you can see from the palm tree, the wind was blowing and there were dark clouds.
The pictures may be a bit blurry because of the wind.
Look what I found on the bank.  Lots of ducks and Egrets.

I always need a bird fix. The birds were busy chirping when I went to bed last night at 2 a.m.
I didn't hear them this morning (rain coming?) so I went to find the ducks.
I didn't have far to go.  But I knew the weather would turn quickly, so I turned around and went back.
As soon as I entered the clubhouse to give a shout out.  It began to pour. There were only some dark clouds.  Therefore, it stopped shortly and the sun came back out.
Off I went to home.

Enjoy your week.
Blessings,
Janet
