Ducklings

The 2 ducklings I saw on Tuesday were very light in color.

Both were following mama this time. Notice the V mama makes in the water.
Today, there was one duckling, however, he's a bit darker. I do not believe they could have changed that much in a few days. At least that is my hope.

Mama is ever watchful of her baby. The baby was constantly moving some of the pics are as fuzzy as he is. . . or maybe it's because he IS fuzzy.

My walk was fun and productive as always.  .  . it is cooling off quite a bit here. Possibly 30s by Sunday. Wherever you are, you may not think that temp as anything but warm, to us with no furnace, it is cold.
Blessings,
Janet

Ducks and turtles and babies

Mama being led by babies, they know where they want to go, she has to follow today.

There were half-dozen turtles in the water along with the ducks.
Yep, even the egrets got into the action when food was being thrown to all.
Better view of turtles, they stay under most of the time and it's difficult to see them.
Both duck and turtle wanted the same piece of food.. . another piece was thrown and both were happy.

This is just a part of my paradise I see every day when I walk.
Blessings,
Janet

Clouds for Art and comment for the day

Look who came to greet me at the canal today.

I couldn't catch him with his combs up.  The Egrets were too busy to notice me today.

While I was busy a fellow walked by and said hi.  I turned around to keep walking and he was waiting. We introduced ourselves. He asked me where I lived and if I played pool. Yep.  He then asked me if I danced. . . he mentioned once a month dances locally and if I'd be interested.
Interesting, 4 days ago a friend of mine dreamed I was dancing with a guy. Whoops.
If I see him again walking, I may say OK and meet him there.  I said, I "may."

OH look at these clouds. I thought they looked like . . . a Slinky. . . Oh, yes, you do remember those!!

Blessings,
Janet

Today at the canal/bridge and ART works.

I was able to walk again this morning and what a beautiful world. I am so happy that my walking days are back.  As you can see the clouds were numerous but the rain hasn't come yet.  The one duck was sitting on the fence.  While other ducks were playing in the water and crossing under the bridge. (A much safer way to get to the other side. . . . we lost one last week walking across the street.)

The three (3) pictures below shows a mirror image of the scenery above the water. I am amazed that it becomes so clear in the water reflection.  Trying to paint a scene like that is not going to be beyond me. I want to learn this one.  The classes I've been taking and the books recommended by the art teacher have been a tremendous help.  The classes are taught at Jerry's Artarama in West Palm Beach. Most of my art is on My Art Blog.

The classes are giving me so much experience and knowledge. I've been drawing/illustrating since I was 12 years old and I am loving being back at it. I just picked up a Bird (drawing/painting) book at the library. I will put those practice pictures on the art blog.

Feel free to follow me there too.  I belong to Paint Party Friday where numerous wonderful artists show their work and most of the time, not only show, but tell how they do what they do. A wonderful art resource with timely art and artists.

The ducks and egrets watch the ducks swim in the canal. Whoops, one of the ducks is coming over to see if I have food.  One of these days I will remember to bring food with me.

I hope you enjoy both blogs.
Blessings,
Janet

Ducks and Egrets

I haven't been walking because I have been giving my ankle time to heal.

Today I was back at the bridge, however, the ducks and egrets are on the other side of the road.

As you can see, there are ducks on the sidewalk and some in the back by the shade and the canal.

I am back walking and everything appears to be fine. I still wear the little brace though.
Blessings,
Janet

Clouds and Motorcycles

The late afternoon walk showed clouds and sunbeams.
Since my art classes and all the art I've recently been doing, I wanted to have this one to try and paint
The Art blog an be seen here:  http://jkwart.blogspot.com

Trying to describe the very cool new motorcycles I've been seeing on the community streets without much luck (my daughter couldn't catch the picture of what I was describing).
This morning I took a picture of them (living not far from the ocean, they are covered from the elements. But they are like 3-wheeled cars, sort of. . . . Gorgeous!

Each day I walk to the Bridge and now past it.

One day there were only two birds in a Bush.
Another day there were two ducks swimming.
The tree and bridge reflections are in the water.
Another day, there were no ducks at the bridge, but as I was walking through my neighborhood, there was one duck.

Today I see a new bird.  The beautiful tree as reflected in the water.
I haven't seen him before.
Everywhere I look there is nature, birds, people. . . life is all around and I enjoy being part of it as I walk twice a day = 3-4 miles depending on my route. Sometimes I 'think' maybe I won't go today (it's 40s in the a.m.) but my body, fortunately, gets ready to go and out the door. I am glad that this habit is made and sticks. It helps my mind be balanced, my body be aware, my legs be strong and my prayers are unceasing as I go on my way.
Blessings,
Janet
