Betsey Johnson Watches

I have followed Betsey Johnson since the 1960s when I saw her designs in a window downtown Chicago. Walking home from the play GREASE, on a dark avenue, my eyes found the designs I thought were awesome.  I didn't know anything about her.  I love that she still does cartwheels after her shows. And look at her new watch collection.  I certainly have my fave picked out.

Full Moon and Meteor Shower

Tonight is a full moon.
Full Sturgeon Moon – August The fishing tribes are given credit for the naming of this Moon, since sturgeon, a large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily caught during this month. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because, as the Moon rises, it appears reddish through any sultry haze. It was also called the Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.
The Perseid Meteor shower is also tonight.  We've had rain since 6 p.m. and it's still raining, not sure this is going to bode well for sightings.  It was cloudy last night here.  But be sure wherever you are to go outside and see both.  It should be quite spectacular.
Blessings,

Sunset

Emily did not come to see us, although she is right outside the door, still.  However, 'they' say she will go away.  The sunset was beautiful.  God painted the sky a bright pink and brushed over other parts of the sky.  Palm trees are beautiful against the backdrop of the sky.  Blessings, JKW

Emily

What's in a name!  Emily is my daughters best friend from Australia.  Emily is the name my daughter wanted to name one of her four daughters, but didn't.  Emily is the name of the storm/hurricane (?) that could disrupt a NASA launch and my plans for the weekend.  They have predicted anywhere from a little rain to a Cat 1.  But they just plain don't know.  Yes, we know, sometimes weeks in advance, but when it is the last minute like this one . . . . Now what!!??

In 1999 they made a wrong call.  They said it wouldn't come near us, albeit over the center part of the state.  We lost our power at 9 p.m.  At midnight we got up and turned on the battery radio and at just that moment the announcer said, "The Eye is just now going over us."  The Eye OF What???  Irene.  We had no ice and by the next morning the water was to our doorstep. . . no way of getting ice.  We lost everything in 2 refrigerators.  I would like to think that things have changed. . . . . .

Blessings,
JKW

Lighthouse where I live

I live not far from the ocean, but too far to go frequently.  The view, the moods and the patterns, therefore, escape me.  I know the ocean changes color as the weather changes and the seasons. The lighthouse is a beacon to guide. Are you a guiding beacon for someone?   Blessings, JKW
