Hurricane survivor

Albeit the eye may have gone over the Keys, but the brunt of the hurricane was here in So. FL so much that we were featured on TWC.

The words Feeder Band and Training are not wonderful words to hear!!!
Some of us are still underwater.

Thought for the Week: One can complain because rosebushes have thorns or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.

Blessings,
Janet

Vacation August 6 2012

After traveling to Savannah, Gastonia and Asheville, we stopped at Ormand Beach on the way home.  The cutest quilt shop and the fabulous view over the Intracoastal to reach it was refreshing. FL is truly paradise and here is a preview.

The Pirates House - Savannah

On the first night out, we stopped for dinner at The Pirates House.  The meal was delicious and the Long Island type Tea was extraordinary.  The Pirate gal came in to give us the history of the place and how it came about.  You can read about the history here.

She carried a Gold Pirate gun and wanted me to come with her. . . uh, NO!  The history of the place was awesome, please do go into the link above.

On our way home, we stopped at a restaurant on the river and watched the container shipping boats go back and forth.  Savannah has the 4th largest port in the USA.

Blessings,
Janet
