The Joy Singers

Church today included The Joy Singers. Aminta, Conchitta and Shelah.

Then we went to the ocean for lunch:

The ocean is so special to me. Phipps Park is a great place for a picnic and to celebrate.

Ducklings and Egrets

The ducklings have grown. They finally showed up after a week or more. She must have moved them to the other side of the water, or , as kids are want, they went exploring.

On my way back home after a 2 mile walk, Egrets were everywhere.

I love the walk and the nature I see.

Ducks and . . .

One of the young ducks was swimming quite contentedly upstream.. .. along comes another duck who wants to swim with him (same size and same coloring).  It frightened the first duck and he took off. The  second duck did not try to follow.  Both contentedly swim but far apart.

Ducklings growing

I saw 2 turtles this morning on my walk to the Bridge.

These 2 were bathing and hanging out across the way. I love the reflection.
This is how far away I was.

This is my walk back from the Bridge. It is truly beautiful here.
OK, Mama (neighborhood duck) was walking her ducklings as I went by. She only walks half of them at a time (?) or did the other half get lost or did they sleep late.
Fun time in the paradise.
We cannot change our memories, but we can change their meaning and the power they have over us.

How many Ducklings??

Good Grief. . . how many ducklings are there?

. . . .and in my own backyard.  The canal is 1/2 way between where she is and the parking lot across the canal which is pretty wide at that point.
Amazing and adorable.

Ducks Growing

Looks like the Duckling grew. It's been a few weeks.

This one is medium now too.
Mom and dad are across the street but keeping an eye on them.
Did not realize the camera only focused on the fence on my side. As you can see there is a fence on both sides and the cars in the middle. The canal is to the left as you can see.

Ducks and Turtles

As usually there were a tremendous amount of turtles. One of the little ones is right there behind mama.

Ms. Duck is washing her face. . . preparing for breakfast!!
Could this possibly be baby duck, I have seen her for over a week.
This is across the busy street on one of the posts busy cleaning.
They usually clean first thing in the mornings.

This Duck is quite a Poser (for the pictures)

Look what I found sitting on the fence posing for her picture.

Oh, she turned around, you Must Take My Best Side!!

Someone is in the water.

A bit smaller than the other one. I did get more of her in this picture.

Oh My, someone flew to the other side. I decided she wanted me to take another picture.

Fun Fun Fun. . .when I came back across the bridge, there were no birds/ducks at all. Since I had started my walk 20 minutes earlier. . . . there would have been no pictures today!

Duckling? Growing up?

I was surprised to see this little duck. Not much markings and a bit of fuzz on the breast. Actually, there were 2 of them. I don't know if one of them is the baby I've been watching, it has been about 2 weeks since I have seen her. . . . However, I do know they grow fast.

Turtles, Ducks and food

Today this medium size duck came right up to me. . . and started talking in a soft quack. .

then one more came right to me and they both were talking to me. . .
Now I understand, the lady with the bread crumbs usually comes at this time of day. I happened to take my walk about 30 minutes earlier than I usually do.
She walks to the bridge and throws more down into the water. . .
 I counted 17 turtles. . . Oh My. . .
It is so much fun to watch the ducks, egrets, turtles and other birds enjoying breakfast.

Turtles and Ducks and Backyard Trees

The turtles and ducks are quite compatible.
Baby duck was not there again today.

Backyard tree (above) was cut down. The tree growing in the pot has been with me for about 20 years. Because it is in a pot, it has never grown very big, but she keeps on living.
The other 2 pots have aloe plants in them.
No Shade from the summer sun now.  I took this picture of the egrets in the back yard. My huge tree is on the left but it does look exactly like the one across from me in the picture above. Mine is now gone.

Ducks and Turtles today

One big turtle and here come 2 more.

Swimming at the Bridge waiting for food.
People do drop crumbs in for the turtles while feeding the ducks.
You can see the walkway, part of the bridge and everyone hanging out.
Once I returned home, there is a duck in my own backyard. Not up in the north part of the complex, but right here on my street.  She was in a hurry after taking a road drink, to be out of the road.

You may not end up where you thought you would be. But you always end up where you’re meant to be.
