Sunrise, canal, Mocking Bird and Book Review

No ducks this morning.

I am in the process of writing a children's book (Middle-Grade) and I have been voraciously reading.  One of the books I recently read is the following. . .
CITY OF JASMINE by Deanna Raybourn
This story encompasses so many wonderful and not a few disheartening characters. Her dead husband, her adventurous aunt, her good friend, a desert sheikh and his women and the enemy (you don’t always know who). The character is unique and has had to become strong.  The issue is that her thinking (about things and people) at times lead her down the wrong path. Things aren’t always what she thinks they are even though the evidence the the contrary is strong. Ms. Raybourn wound the ending around and around so that it wasn’t tied up quickly, albeit it was tied up neatly. The strong and unique characters, and the unusual setting, make this a page turner. (The quote was in the book.)
Blessings,
Janet
